Who We Are:L’Etoile, the Russian Ballet Academy of Maryland, opened its doors in 2007. Since then, L’Etoile has excelled at providing professional ballet training while keeping a small and amicable atmosphere. All classes have a small amount of students, ensuring individual attention for each student from the teacher. The student’s hard work and training is presented in our annual Nutcracker and Spring Performance. In the years the studio has been open, L’Etoile has produced and performed the full length Nutcracker, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire (Le Jardin Anime), Don Quixote (Dream Scene), La Bayadere (Act II), the Artistic Director’s own production, Le Masquerade, as well as seven concert programs entitles “A Tribute to Classical Ballet.” Students are always accepted into the world’s best schools, such as Bolshoi, ABT, and the Kirov Academy of Ballet, for summer intensive programs. Graduates have also been accepted into collegiate dance programs at Towson University, University of Utah, Butler University, University of the Arts, and Point Park University.
L’Etoile faculty and staff aim at providing a safe and friendly environment where students feel free to express themselves in movement. Faculty are fully dedicated to teaching the pure Vaganova syllabus, providing a Russian style of classical ballet. L’Etoile’s goal is to form well-trained and diverse dancers, preparing them for the world of ballet outside of the studio.
